PRESERVING TRADITIONS Passover Seder Dinner Tuesday , March 16, 2010 6:30-9pm Passover is a historical festival which commemorates the liberation of the children of Israel. Seder, which means “order”, is the name given to the special Passover meal and home service. During Passover, an eight day holiday, observers are not to eat any foods with flour or leavening. Preserving the food traditions of Seder are at the heart of this class with Chef David Lowe and Laurel Run Volunteer Nancy Epstein. Learn to create a Seder meal with their recipes for Chopped Chicken liver, homemade Gefilte Fish with fresh horseradish, Charoset (nuts & apples), Nancy’s delicious Chicken Soup with Matzo Balls, Roast Leg of Lamb and Chicken Breast Supreme, Double-Gingered Orange Carrots and Rice Pilaf.
